Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi arrived in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, June 24 – Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi arrived in Kathmandu on a two-day official visit, on Monday afternoon.

Yang is the top Chinese official visiting Nepal since the new leadership under Li Keqiang assumed office in China last March. He is also in-charge of the China´s foreign affairs. Foreign Secretary Durga Prasad Bhattarai received him at Tribhuwan International Airport at 4 pm.

The Chinese delegation is scheduled to meet Minister for Foreign and Home Affairs Madhav Ghimire today evening. Yang is scheduled to meet Chairman of interim election government Khil Raj Regmi and Vice President Paramananda Jha along with other top leaders tomorrow.
