Dairy firms involved in malpractices sealed

Kathmandu, June 18 – The Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DFTQC) has expedited the inspection of various dairies in capital as some dairies have been found involved in irregularities in their production.

A team deployed from the department on Monday sealed Idea Plus, based in Chapagaun of Lalitpur as it has been found operating without permission and also found using high level of coliform – a harmful bacterium – in the dairy products.

Similarly, the department had also sealed Aadhunik Dairy at Balaju and Sanjivani Dairy at Pandu Bazar Bhakatapur as these dairies were also found using high level of coliform in the milk products.
