Bankerss requested govt to revise BFIs income tax to 20 pc

Kathmandu, June 14 – The bankers have requested the government to revise the income tax of banks and financial institutions (BFI) to 20 percent from the existing 30 percent.
During the meeting with the Finance Minister Shankar Koirala on Thursday, Nepal Bankers ’ Association (NBA) demanded the government to decrease the income tax of the BFIs through the next fiscal year 2013/14 budget.
In response, FM Koirala said the government is committed for the development of banking sector through favourable policy.
