Govermnet declares may 28 as National Day
Kathmandu, June 1 – Nepal government has formally decided to celebrate May 28 as National Day.
A recent meeting of the Cabinet finally has chosen May 28 as a national day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been conveying the decision to all diplomatic missions in Kathmandu and all the 138 countries with which Nepal has diplomatic relations.
"Now onwards, May 28 will be marked as the National Day, the day when heads of state and government can offer congratulatory messages to their Nepali counterparts," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arjun Bahadur Thapa informed on Friday.
