Parties registeration with EC reached to 140 on last day

Kathmadnu, May 31 – The number of political parties registeration with the Election Commission has increased on last day. Election commission's party registrationhas reached  to 140 till last day.

 

On Wednesday, commisiion had registered only  75 different parties.

 

According to Acting Chief Election Commissioner, Dholak Bahadur Gurung  however the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) which is undergoing protest programme against government  has not yet registered its party.

 

During the election time at 2064 BS total 74 parties had registered their name and all had participated in the election.

 

According to the Party Registration Act (2007), a new party must collect signatures of 10,000 individuals to register with the EC while those represented in the dissolved Constituent Assembly should furnish recommendation from the CA Secretariat along with applications for registration.
