HLPC meeting inconclusive

Kathmandu, May 27 – The meeting of High Level Political Committee ended inconclusively on Monday morning as Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala did not take part in it.
The HLPC had held its meeting to discuss the disputed issues related to Constituent Assembly elections including the threshold provision.
Top leaders of the major four political forces — UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front– parted their ways after a brief discussion, with an understanding to resume the meeting on Wednesday morning.
It has been learnt that Koirala did not attend the meeting as he was scheduled to go outside the Valley to take part in some programme.
On Sunday, HLPC and government held talks regarding upcoming polls to the Constituent Assembly (CA) at the Baluwatar-based official residence of Chairman of Interim Election Council (IEC).
