NEPSE index loses 0.94 points

Kathmandu, May 26 – NEPSE lost marginal 0.94 points to settle at 497.04 points on Thursday from Sunday’s 497.98 points last week.
As per the sub-indices of the secondary market, hotel groups lost 15.13 points and other 7.05 points. Similarly, commercial banks and manufacturing groups also went negative over last week.
However, insurance gained 12.70 points, trading 5.83 points, development banks 3.21 points and hydropower 2.12 points.
The stock market had crossed over 500 points on Tuesday. However, the index could not stay long and plunged below 500 points on Wednesday and Thursday.
Over the week, the market registered a turnover of Rs. 356.47 million through 5594 transactions with 117 companies while it had registered a turnover of Rs. 337.16 million through 4681 transaction with 113 companies.
The transaction amount is up by 5.73 percent compared to the previous week. Of the total transaction, A category companies alone contributed Rs. 219.67 million which is 61.62 percent of the total turnover.
