Rain swept away diversion road in Nawalparasi

Kawaswoti, May 26 – The rainfall that occurred in the night has swept away diversion (alternative road) being constructed over the Lokaha rivulet in Nawalparasi along the Narayangarh-Butwal road section of the East-West Highway three times during last two weeks of May.
Passengers have to suffer a lot when the rain-swollen rivulet swept away the diversion in the night.
A diversion was constructed from the southern part of the Lokaha rivulet after the bridge was broken down with the movement of an overloaded on last September.
The diversion was constructed for four times from last September onwards. However, the construction has not come to a final shape.
The Road Division Office, Butwal has invested tens of thousands rupees for the construction of diversion.
The only main highway of the country is on the verge of disruption and passengers from different parts of the country are facing tough time to travel due to sheer negligence from the government offices. RSS
