Terai region affected by Sadbhawana bandh

Kathmandu, May 26 – Normal life in 22 districts of Terai region has been partially affected Sunday due to a shutdown strike (bandh) imposed by Sadbhawana Party demanding immediate announcement of poll date.
Although the full extent of the effect the day-long bandh is having on the Terai districts is yet to come, but reports coming in say that main marketplaces were closed in the affected districts while vehicular transporation has been partially obstructed.
Sadbhawana Party, which has been agitating to exert pressure on the government to fulfill its 10 demands which include immediate announcement of poll date, formation of a constituency delimiatation commission and solving the problem seen in citizenship distribution, enforced the bandh saying that the government has turned a deaf ear to the party’s demands.
