Cabinet meeting appointed Shakya as VC of planning commission

Kathmadnu, May 23 – The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday  has appointed Former secretary Rabindra Man Shakya has been as the Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission .

 

The meeting has  also decided to scrap the commission formed during Baburam Bhatatrai-led government to resolve the landless squatters' problem along with the Land and Revenue Office will take responsibility of the documents of central region including those concerning Physical Planning Ministry and those collected in the district level.

 

Likewise, 81-year-old Nepali mountaineer Min Bahadur Sherchan including other seven mountaineers have been given permission to climb Mt Everest once again. The government has also announced to exempt Rs 7 million fee for climbing the Everest.

 

He will also be given Rs 1 million in aid to summit the Everest.

 

Today's meeting also condemned the murder of former CA member Sadrul Miya Haque and decided to form a probe panel headed by former advocate Tahir Ali Ansari that include Attorney General Surya Koirala and AIG Dinkar Shumsher Rana as members.

 

 

Likewise, the government has approved Rs 1.98 billion grant assistance extended by the German government and authorised Finance Secretary and Joint Secretary at the ministry to sign the MoU on the same.

 

The government has also decided to accept Rs. 2.30 billion aid to be extended by the World Bank for co-operative sector reform, Poudel said.

 

Meanwhile, the government has decided to extend the tenure of Major General Pawan Kumar Pandey by 17 more days.

 

It has also decided to give 4.961 hectare land given to Manakamana cable car on lease for 40 years.
