Students staged a relay fast against illegal admission
Parsa, May 23 – Some student leaders of Thakurram Campus at Birgunj have staged a relay fast saying fake students were admitted in the campus over night.
The students launched the agitation to protest the admission of around 1,300 fake students on Tuesday night by the campus in view of the election to the Free Students Union (FSU) going to be held on June 6.
The students have demanded that the admissions of the fake students carried out on Tuesday night be scrapped.
Mainly dissenting side of the Nepal Students Union, Madhesi Students Forum Nepal and a student organisation close to Mohan Baidya's party demanded that the fake admissions carried out on Tuesday night be scrapped.
However, Rakesh Yadav of NSU, Prabhakar Gupta of the All Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU)-Revolutionary said that it was not necessary to scrap the admissions as it was carried out of regular students of the campus and added that some students of private schools have staged the relay fast.
Campus Chief Lalan Dwibedi said that he was ready to resolve the problems of students through talks. RSS
