Lenovo Forays into Nepal with next generation computing devices

Kathmandu, May 18, 2013 – Lenovo, the world’s number two PC maker (IDC’s 1Q13 Preliminary Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker) and the world’s fastest growing PC player, today announced its foray into the Nepal market as a step towards consolidating its position in the APAC region.

 

This move is in sync with Lenovo’s successful ‘Protect and Attack’ strategy, which is about attacking areas of greatest potential and protecting areas were Lenovo has a strong lead. It has laid a solid foundation to make Lenovo a leading global personal technology company in the PC+ age by protecting its position in core markets, such as in China, while aggressively pursuing new high-growth opportunities, including emerging markets such as Nepal.

The key products launched under Lenovo’s Consumer offering in Nepal include notebooks, ultrabooks, desktops, All in Ones (AIOs) as well as the latest 7” dual sim, 3G enabled portable entertainment tablet (A2107A). These sleek Lenovo machines embody the convergence of style and performance, which are the perfect tools for consumers to manage every aspect of their digital lives. Lenovo is also bringing ‘Think’, the world’s number one Commercial PC brand closer to SMB customers in Nepal with its range of notebooks, desktops and All in Ones (AIOs).

 

To address the burgeoning PC requirements of its customers, Lenovo has partnered with Megatech Trade Group and Thakral Brothers Pvt. Ltd. as the national distributors for Nepal. The two partners will also extend service support to customers in the region. The exciting range of products is currently available across 30 multi brand retail outlets (MBOs) in Kathmandu. Further, Lenovo plans to launch exclusive stores in Kathmandu as well as strengthen its distribution network by doubling the number of partners this financial year.
