Budget to focus on energy, agriculture, road, irrigation sectors

Finance Minister Shankar Prasad Koirala said that the budget for next fiscal year 2013/14 will be timely and will focus on productive sectors.

During the meeting of Finance Ministry and National Planning Commission (NPC) here on Monday, FM Koirala directed the officials at the commission to make necessary preparation to introduce timely budget with focus on energy, agriculture, road and irrigation sectors.

The budget will be introduced focusing on financial discipline and good governance, Minister Koirala said. The budget will not be distributive but for development, according to NPC.

On the occasion, Chiranjeevi Nepal, senior economic advisor at the Finance Ministry urged the government to introduce the budget giving priority to productive sectors along with discouraging financial misuse.
