Govt invites all-party meet on polls Friday

Kathmandu, May 9 – The government has called an all-party meeting to discuss election issues including the election date on Friday.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday decided to hold the all-party meeting. The agitating 33-party alliance will also be invited for talks, but it is unlikely to attend the meeting given its recent decision not to sit for talks with the government.

Meanwhile, today's cabinet meeting decided to formulate laws on VIP security.

The meeting also formed a cabinet panel to negotiate with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on the Rs. 6.54 billion credit deal.
