Govt to implement dual colour LPG from next fiscal year

Kathmandu,May 8 – The government is set to introduce dual coloured Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders from next fiscal year 2013/14.
After several rounds of discussion between the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and Nepal LPG Industry Association (NLPGIA), the government has fixed the date to June 15 to implement the two coloured LPG, according to the Ministry.
The ministry on Tuesday directed the NOC to implement the system from July 15.
This is the fourth time that the government has extended the date regarding the introduction of two coloured cylinder as the date had been postponed to August 17, October 17 and February 12 previously.
However, NLPGIA is reluctant towards the decision of the government, citing that it has not fulfilled the demand of the LPG dealers and bottlers. They have been demanding an increase in the commission of dealers and bottlers.
