Senior Chinese delegations arriving

Kathmandu,May 7 – Two separate senior Chinese delegations are visiting Nepal over the next two weeks.Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi is arriving on a two-day visit on May 18. Yang, who was China's foreign minister until March this year, will be the most senior foreign delegate to visit Nepal since the formation of the interim election government headed by Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi.
During the visit, Yang will meet President Ram Baran Yadav, chairman of the interim election council Regmi and top leaders of the major parties.
Meanwhile, Chinese vice minister for education, Hao Ping, is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on Tuesday on a five-day official visit. Discussions between the Education Ministry officials and Hao's delegation will dwell on mutual cooperation on education sector including the Chinese government scholarships for Nepali students. The Nepali side is to request the Chinese delegation for more scholarship quotas, it is learnt.
