115 houses turned into ashes after fire in Saptri
Rajbiraj, May 4 – The fire that started from a house of a local due to electric short circuit has damaged 115 houses at Joginiya-6 in Saptari district on Friday night. The property worth Rs 13 million was destroyed by the fire. No human casualties were reported however, the fire claimed six cattle.
A team from the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police assisted by fire fighters fought the blaze for four hours with support from locals, before it could be brought under control, police said.
Two fire engines from Rajbiraj Municipality, one each from Inaruwa Municipality, Itahari Municipality, and Biratnagar Sub-Metropolitan City worked to douse the fire.
