Mohan Baidya gets Parijat Award
Kathmandu, May 4 – The Parijat Memorial Centre has given away honors and prizes here in the Capital on Saturday.
Those honored are senior Marxist thinker Mohan Baidya 'Kiran' (Chaitanya) with the Parijat Sirjan Samman- 2069, leader Sahana Pradhan with Parijat Sangharshashil Nari Samman -2069 and Naradmani Hartamchhali with the Parijat Kala Samman 2069 Bs. Baidya is also the chairman of the CPN-Maoist. The prizes comprise of Rs. 10,000 each.
Former Chairman of Progressive Writers Association, Ananda Dev Bhatta gave away the prizes.
Leader Pradhan's son Umesh Shrestha received the prize as she was ill, and he handed over the prize money to Centre's Chairperson Laxmi Mali for the under -construction building of Parijat Memorial Centre.
Critic Bhatta said Nepali literature received important works like 'Shirishko Phool' from Parijat .
Parijat was born in 1994 BS and died on Baisakh 5, 2050 BS. RSS
