Journalist assaulted on eve of WPF
Kathmandu, May 3 – Ramesh Lamsal , a reporter with the Rastriya Samachar Samiti ( RSS ), the national news agency, was assault ed by unidentified assailants while he was returning home from office on Thursday night.
The attack on journalist Lamsal took place on the eve of the World Press Freedom Day.
Lamsal was assault ed by unidentified men who came on two motorcycles near Nepaltar at local Manamaiju VDC.
The assailants beat Lamsal, repeating the phrase- ´So, you write news.´ Lamsal has sustained face injuries due to the beating.
Lamsal said that the assailants had been following the office vehicle from Balaju By-pass itself and started beating him as soon as he got off the vehicle. RSS
