Nepal Government approved the resignation of NPC members

Kathmandu, April 25 – The government of Nepal has approved the resignation earlier tendered by National Planning Commission (NPC) vice-chairman and three other NPC members on Thursday.
A cabinet meeting approved the resignation of NPC Vice-Chairman Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri and members Shiva Kumar Rai, Janak Raj Shah and Abdul Rahim Nikarani.
The Baburam Bhattarai government had earlier appointed former Nepal Rastra Bank governor Chhetri as NPC vice-chairman. Today’s meeting also appointed Ram Hari Lamichhane as member secretary of Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training.
They had resigned, albeit after much reluctance, following the High Level Political Committee’s decision to scrap all political appointments carried by the erstwhile Baburam Bhattarai government.
