Nepalis to foreign jobs increase by 33 percent

Kathmandu,April 24 –  The number of Nepalis going abroad for jobs increased by 33.37 percent during the first ninth months of the current fiscal year compared to the same period last fiscal year.
As many as 318,427 youth left the country for overseas jobs during the period while same number was recorded 238,746 last fiscal year, according to the data from the Department of Foreign Employment.

Of the total number of aspirants leaving for country, some 298,681 were male and 19,745 female.

Similarly, some 282,266 Nepalis flew abroad through recruiting agencies and 36,161 through personal contact.

During this period, Malaysia hired highest of 115,085 Nepalis, Saudi Arabia 61,982, Qatar 58,223, the UAE 39,241 and Kuwait 9,740
