New bird flu outbreak in Chitwan

Chitwan, April 23 – New case of bird flu was discovered once again here in Gongrang and Mangalpur of the district.
According to Ram Kumar Karki, chief at the district Livestock Service Office confirmed that bird flu was detected in two poultry farms owned by Rambabu Thapaliya in Gondrang and another farm owned by Chitraraj Shrestha in Managalpur.
Few days earlier, bird flu was also detected in two poultry farms, Gondrang–based farm owned by Laxmi Rana and Mangalpur-based farm owned by Rajendra Hamal.
The farms of Tahpaliya and Shrestha lies near to the farms of Rana and Hamal. According to district Livestock Service office, a total of 6 051 chicken have been culled on Monday night.
A team of technician deputed from the district livestock service culled the 3,275 chicken from Shrestha aand 2,876 chicken from Thapaliya´s farm.
