Mahasamiti meeting concluded positively

Nawalparasi, April 11 – The Mahasamiti meeting of the Nepali Congress has concluded with agreeing to make further amendment s to the political proposal s made during the meeting on Thursday.
Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel has proposed federating the country into seven or 13 states in the new constitution. It has formed a nine member committee, coordinated by Vice President Poudel, to make further amendment s to the proposal .
The meeting also demanded to scrap all the cases filed against party leader Khum Bahadur Khadka. A group comprising members of 12 zones demanded to scrap all the false cases filed against Khadka. Khadka, who was convicted of corruption charges by the Supreme Court, is doing his time in prison.
As per the agreement made in the Mahasamiti meeting, the decision sanctioned by the committee will be valid once it is approved by the party's Central Committee meeting.
The meeting also concluded saying that the proposed Constituent Assembly election should be held within November. It has also demanded to rebuff all the transfers by the Baburam Bhattarai-led government. It has also drawn the attention of the government to conduct a free and fair election .
