Armed group surrenders weapons in Terai

Kathmandu,March 31 – An armed group in Western Terai has handed over its weapons to the local administration of Bardiya district.Manoj Mandal, a leader of the Bhagat Singh faction of Janatantrik Terai Madhesi Mukti Party, handed over six rifles, nine socket bombs, bullets, fuse wire and gunpowder to the district administration on Saturday.
The Armed group said that the group will now engage in peaceful politics and that it is preparing to field candidates in the upcoming elections.
