Newly appointed Election Commissioner Nil Kantha Upreti has said that the commission will call on the government to announce a date for fresh CA elections, at the earliest.

Uprety, who assumed his office earlier Sunday, said that the commission is committed to holding free and fair elections at the earliest. Upreti informed that the commission will assess the legal and technical challenges to holding elections and suggest an election date for the government.
