TIA to remain closed for 10 hours daily from Nov 8

KATHMANDU, JUNE 25: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will be closed for 10 hours daily starting November 8 to allow for essential infrastructure upgrades.
The TIA office announced that the closure is necessary to facilitate work on extending the runway, taxiway, parking bay, and other infrastructure.
According to the airport office, TIA will be closed from 10 PM to 8 AM starting November 8 and this schedule will continue for five months.
A notice from the office states that from November 8 to March 31, the airport will operate only 14 hours a day. Currently, TIA opens at 6 AM and operates until 2 AM.
Due to the nighttime closure, airlines will need to revise their scheduled flight hours.
