All sluices of Gandak Barrage opened

NAWLPUR (NAWALPASASI), JULY 7: All the gates of the Gandak Barrage have been opened after the water level in the Narayani River rose above the warning level. According to Kashinath Harijan, Liaison Officer of Gandak Barrage, all the gates of the Gandak Dam (Barrage) located in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-7 of Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapurva) have been opened.
All 36 gates of the barrage were opened after the Binayi Triveni-1 Baguban area was flooded. He said that all the gates of the barrage were opened as the flow of water in the Gandak area continued to increase. Today at 7:00 am, the flow of water in the Gandak Barrage was measured at 440,750 cusecs.
Meanwhile, the south section of Nawalparasi (Bardghat-Sustapur) under the East-West Highway has been blocked due to fallen trees. Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Bahadur Paudel said that the road was blocked by a tree that fell on the road near the Bishwakarma temple in Daunne.
