Employer Training on relevance of care economy kicks off in Dhangadhi

JULY 24: The employer training on the relevance of the care economy has kicked off today in Dhangadhi, Kailali. The three-day training is being held by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation (ILO). 

. The inaugural session of the employer training on the relevance of the care economy in the private sector was chaired by Padamraj Chaulagain, member of the FNCCI Sudurpashchim Province Executive Committee and President of the Lamki Chamber of Commerce. The chief guest of the program was Kamala Shrestha, a central member of FNCCI and convener of the federation's Women Entrepreneurship Development Committee.

The program was also participated in by Pramod Bhattarai, Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forests and Environment, and Gagan Dev Bhatta, Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development. The objectives of the three-day training, along with an introduction to the FNCCI, were presented by Hari Paudel, Assistant Director of FNCCI.

Astha Bhatta, the lead trainer, in her inaugural address, said that the care economy is now a serious matter for the government and the private sector and that it is necessary to formulate a procedure for it. 

A total of 30 people from the Sudurpashchim Province, including industrialists, businesspeople, and government and non-government representatives, are participating in the three-day training.
