NEA earns net profit of NPR 13.31 billion

KATHMANDU, AUGUST 9: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) achieved a net profit of NPR 13.31 billion in the last fiscal year (FY) 2023/24.
Speaking at a program held to mark the completion of the third year of his second term, the Executive Director of the Authority, Kulman Ghising, announced that a cumulative profit of NPR 47.41 billion was made by his entity in the last fiscal year.
Under Ghising's leadership as Executive Director, the Authority has become profitable. In the fiscal year 2072/73, before he became the Executive Director, the Authority was in a loss of NPR 8.89 billion. The cumulative loss for that year was NPR 34.61 billion.
His second term began on August 9, 2021. Three years of his four-year term have now been completed.
