Industry Minister inspects Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Port

AUGUST 11: Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Damodar Bhandari inspected the Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Port in Haldia, India, yesterday. During the visit, he discussed with port officials ways to facilitate trade transit to Nepal, according to his secretariat.
Also present at the discussion were Joint Secretary Baburam Adhikari, who is assigned to the bilateral section of the Ministry of Commerce, and an official from the Consulate General in Calcutta.
Minister Bhandari instructed the Consulate General and Godown Company Limited to work towards achieving concrete results, given the procedural problems encountered in trade with third countries. He also discussed the long-term use of land leased by Nepal Transport and Warehousing Company Limited within the Haldia Port Interior Zone.
