Construction of Gautam Buddha Cricket Stadium begins

CHITWAN, AUGUST 11: Bharatpur Metropolitan City has begun the construction of the Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium at Bharatpur Metropolitan City-15 in collaboration with the provincial and federal governments.
According to Santosh Acharya, the head of the urban infrastructure department of the metropolitan city, work on stone soling under the parapet has been expedited. Local materials used in the construction are being tested in the metropolitan city’s laboratory, and the rods have been sent to Kathmandu for testing. He stated, "The technicians and employees of the construction company have started working on-site."
Meanwhile, Mayor Renu Dahal has urged the concerned company and stakeholders to complete the work within the stipulated time, committing to providing all possible support on behalf of the municipality. She mentioned that the BMC will set up an office at the construction site to facilitate the work.
According to Engineer Jagannath Aryal, Deputy Director of the Metropolitan City, the ground will be constructed along with a parapet, with a seating capacity for 10,000 spectators. The cost of constructing the stadium is Rs 755 million, 91 thousand, and 189. An agreement has been made to complete the construction by 6th January, 2027
In the current fiscal year, the federal government has allocated a budget of Rs 250 million, and the BMC has earmarked Rs 480 million. The Bagmati Province government has agreed to cover 70 percent of the total contract amount, it is reported.
