Over 4,000 small and cottage industries in Jumla

JUMLA, AUGUST 15: The registration of small and cottage industries has been on the rise in the Jumla district. According to the Office for Protection of Industry and Consumer Interests, 4,216 industries of various types were registered in the district during the last fiscal year.
Binod Kumar Baniya, the Acting Chief of the office, informed that 204 new small-scale industries were registered in the last fiscal year. Of the registered industries, 10 are in manufacturing, 122 in agriculture and forestry, and 68 in service sectors.
A revenue of Rs 2.4 million was collected in the last fiscal year. Additionally, the office provided various skill-based training to 204 people from all eight local governments in the district during the same period.
