Six Nepali students to represent Nepal in Huawei's Tech4Good Competition

KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 20: The six winners of the Seeds for the Future 2024 program are preparing to represent Nepal in the regional Tech4Good competition in China this September. This initiative is a key part of Huawei’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at equipping young students with essential skills to drive digital innovation and societal progress.
"After a rigorous selection process, six standout students—Aashish Karki, Angelina Ghimire, Priyanshu Sharma, Sadhana Panthi, Samip Aryal, and Samriddhi Karki—were chosen from over 300 applicants," states a press release from the company. "They will continue their journey in China, competing against international peers in the Tech4Good Regional Competition, where they will receive world-class training, mentorship, and real-world business exposure."
In China, the students are expected to gain hands-on experience in digital power solutions, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, while also engaging with both local and international industry leaders. The program will also include cross-cultural exchanges, interactive workshops, and opportunities to connect with experts from Huawei’s global research and development centers.
This year’s Seeds for the Future program has played a key role in identifying and nurturing local ICT talent in Nepal, fostering innovation and encouraging social responsibility, according to the release.
The program, which began internationally in Thailand in 2008, has so far benefited over 18,000 students from 141 countries, including Nepal, where it was launched in 2019.
