Birgunj Customs achieves over 71 per cent revenue collection target

BIRGUNJ, SEPTEMBER 22: The Birgunj Customs Office has achieved 71 percent of its revenue target within the first two months of the current fiscal year. According to the office in Parsa district, over Rs 25 billion was collected out of a targeted Rs 35 billion.
Chief Revenue Administrator Deepak Lamichhane reported that revenue collection increased by Rs 1 billion compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year. He attributed this growth primarily to the large-scale import of petroleum products during this time.
Lamichhane also noted a significant rise in the import of electric vehicles during the first two months of the current fiscal year, a shift from the previous year when imports were dominated by fossil fuel-powered vehicles.
