237,000 plus people travel by air during Dashain

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 17: More than 237,000 passengers traveled through Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) during the five days of the Badadashain festival.
According to TIA statistics, 160,910 passengers used the domestic terminal, while 78,512 traveled via the international terminal between Phulpati and Duwadashi (October 10 to 14).
Over the course of Dashain (October 10 to 16), the airport handled 2,159 domestic flights and 781 international flights, according to TIA spokesperson Rinji Sherpa.
The surge in both domestic and international flights resulted in heavy crowding at both terminals. However, airport authorities report that flight operations are now returning to normal.
