13 industries make their first installment on electricity
NEA refuses to disclose their names as requestd by them

KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 30: Out of the 49 companies with outstanding electricity bills for using dedicated feeders and trunk lines, 13 industries have made their first instalment payment. Deputy Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Manoj Silwal, said that by Wednesday, the said number of industries had cleared their first instalments. However, the NEA has not disclosed the names or amounts paid, as requested by the industries.
Among the 13 industries, one is government-owned Udaypur Cement Hetauda Cement which owes Rs 447.45 million to the NEA. Similarly,another public enterprise-Hetauda Cement- is said to be committed to paying its first instalment soon. It needs to pay Rs 338.08 million for electricity consumption.
On October 25, the NEA disconnected the electricity supply to 43 industries for failing to pay their dues. I
Meanwhile, some industries have moved the court against the NEA's decision to cut electricity supply. Seven industries that obtained stay orders from the court have their power supply remains unaffected.
