Tea worth Rs 114 million exported

JHAPA, NOVEMBER 22 : The Nepal Multipurpose Cooperative (NMC) has exported tea worth Rs 114.3 million to India. This revenue was generated by exporting 364,044 kilograms of tea.
Rabindra Pandey, the organization's business chief, stated that the cooperative focuses on producing high-quality tea sourced from its members, who are farmers. “We purchase tea leaves from the farmers and process them into finished tea,” Pandey added.
The cooperative operates three tea processing factories located in Suryodaya and Maijogmai in Ilam and Mechinagar in Jhapa.
With 350 affiliated farmers and an investment exceeding Rs 130 million in the tea business, the cooperative provides direct employment to 52 individuals. Under its NMC brand, the organization produces 'Black Tea,' 'Orthodox Tea,' and 'Green Tea.'
