China-Nepal Tourism Promotion Event Held in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 5: The China Cultural Centre (CCC) hosted a tourism promotion event titled ‘Nihao China’ yesterday, bringing together participants from the business community, tourism sector, airlines, and other stakeholders.
The event was a collaborative effort by the CCC Kathmandu Office, China’s national flag carrier Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu.
During the program, Xiao Jiang, Director of the CCC Kathmandu Office, emphasized the importance of such events in enhancing Nepali tourism professionals' understanding of Chinese tourism resources and policies. She highlighted that the initiative fostered connections, facilitated information sharing, and opened avenues for future collaboration between Chinese and Nepali tourism sectors.
The event saw participation from over 100 Nepali travel and ticketing agents, alongside representatives from Chinese tourist companies such as Guangxi Guangda Tourism Investment Company, Tibet Yeti International Travel Service, and Sichuan Mingyan Travel Agency.
Director Xiao noted that both Nepal and China, with their unique cultures and rich tourism resources, stand to gain significantly from a strengthened bilateral partnership in the tourism sector. She also acknowledged the upcoming Visit Nepal Year 2025, marking it as a special occasion as it coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Similarly, Mohan Suwal of the China National Tourist Office spoke about the diverse offerings of Chinese tourism, including its cuisine, cultural and historical heritage, and other attractions.
The event served as a platform to deepen mutual understanding and explore opportunities for collaboration in promoting tourism between Nepal and China.
