Seti hydel project begins commercial power generation

KASKI, DECEMBER 6: The Seti Hydropower Project, located in Machhapuchchhre Rural Municipality of Kaski district, has officially commenced commercial power generation. The 25-megawatt project began operations after successfully completing tests of the power plant, interconnection, and commissioning.
According to the company's chairman, Jag Bahadur Pokharel, the electricity generated by the project has been integrated into the Nepal Electricity Authority's (NEA) system. The power is supplied to the NEA through its substation in Lahachowk village within the rural municipality.
The total cost of this run-of-the-river project has surpassed NPR 5 billion. Water is channeled to the powerhouse in the Chintebagar area via a 6,400-meter-long underground pipeline from the Bharabhari site of the Seti River in Sardhikhola.
