NBL's then Deputy Manager Shrestha arrested after 13 years

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 16: A team from the District Police Range Kathmandu has arrested the former Deputy Manager of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), Sashi Kiran Shrestha, on corruption charges.
Shrestha was apprehended yesterday in Swoyambhu, Kathmandu, following his conviction in a corruption case, according to Range spokesperson Superintendent of Police (SP) Nawaraj Adhikari. "Our team arrested him to implement the court's verdict as he had been convicted of corruption," SP Adhikari stated.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against Shrestha, who had been on the run for 13 years since the case was filed. He was accused of causing a financial loss of Rs 398.9 million by abusing his authority while approving loans.
SP Adhikari added that Shrestha will be presented before the court tomorrow to enforce the court's decision.
