Minister Bhandari urges South Korea to invest in Nepal

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 16: Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the security of foreign investments in Nepal.
Speaking at a program organized by the Embassy of Nepal in South Korea and the Korea-Nepal International Exchange Association on Monday, Minister Bhandari urged South Korean investors to invest in Nepal with confidence.
He praised South Korea’s contributions to Nepal's hydropower sector, particularly through the development of the Upper Trishuli Hydropower Project. Highlighting Nepal’s openness to South Korean capital and technology, Minister Bhandari encouraged investments in Nepal’s industry, trade, and tourism sectors.
“The rate of return in Nepal is high due to an abundant youth workforce, raw materials, and diverse geography,” he noted, according to his Chief Personal Secretary, Ananda Bhatta.
Minister Bhandari emphasized that Nepal offers a lucrative investment environment with access to large markets in neighboring countries such as India, China, and Bangladesh. He also assured South Korean investors that the government would provide all necessary support to promote business and generate employment opportunities in Nepal.
