Agro- product sales centre at Manthali

MANTHALI: DECEMBER 17: A new agro-product sales centre has been brought into operation at the district headquarters of Ramechhap, Manthali, to promote locally produced items.
Manthali Municipality Mayor Lava Shrestha inaugurated the centre amidst a program yesterday. According to Bhanu Bhakta Shrestha, Secretary of the District Agriculture Cooperatives Association, the facility will sell a variety of locally grown produce, including turmeric, ginger, garlic, bananas, beans, citrus fruits such as oranges and lemons, and seasonal vegetables cultivated by small farmers.
The centre has been introduced by the Tamakoshi Agro Academy and Research Centre under the theme "From Field to Kitchen". Plans are afoot to further expand the scheme by incorporating local handicraft items suitable for home use and gifting purposes.
With the opening of this centre, small farmers are no longer compelled to travel to the Manthali Bazaar to sell their produce. Local farmers are optimistic that the facility will provide a reliable market for their agricultural products and help improve their livelihoods.
