Realty revenue surges by over 43 percent

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 18: Revenue collection from real estate transactions increased by 43.50 percent, i.e., Rs 1.80 billion, in the month of Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December) compared to the previous month of Kartik (mid-October to mid-November). While NPR 2.7 billion was collected in Kartik, the amount rose to NPR 3.87 billion in Mangsir.
According to the Department of Land Management and Records, a total of 43,379 real estate transactions were recorded nationwide in Mangsir, compared to 33,514 transactions in Kartik.
Among the land revenue offices in the Kathmandu Valley, the Lagankhel office collected the highest amount of revenue of NPR 339.5 million. Similarly, land revenue offices in Kalanki, Chabahil, Sano Thimi, Manmaiju and Tokha collected NPR 265.7 million, NPR 225.8 million, NPR 75.0 million, NPR 72.6 million, and NPR 71.2 million respectively.
Meanwhile,, the Biratnagar land revenue office collected NPR 104.9 million, while the Chitwan office collected NPR 359.8 million.
The department also reported that NPR 260.6 million was collected as service tax, NPR 2.63 billion as registration fees, and NPR 1.31 billion as capital gains tax during Mangsir.
