Health Minister calls for increasing production of ayurvedic medicines

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 19: Health and Population Minister Pradip Paudel has urged the Singha Durbar Vaidhyakhana to boost the production of ayurvedic medicines.
"There is a market demand for the medicines you produce. Increase your output," he stated during a visit to monitor the facility's manufacturing operations today.
The Minister directed the Vaidhyakhana management to blacklist contractors failing to supply necessary raw materials and explore alternative options. He expressed concern over the scarcity of Vaidhyakhana-produced medicines in the market.
"Why aren't we producing medicines that are in demand? Budget constraints will not be an issue for production, but you must enhance output," he emphasized.
Responding to employee complaints about resource shortages, the Minister clarified that funds had recently been allocated. He assured that capital support for public corporations could be arranged but stressed that funds would not be provided for salary payments.
