'Honey Festival' to take place in Chitwan from tomorrow

CHITWAN, DECEMBER 25: The Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project Implementation Unit is organizing a 'Honey Festival' starting Thursday to promote the honey market. The festival will run until December 30.
Rabi Kiran Adhikari, the Bee Zone Program Officer of the project, stated that 10 sales booths will be set up at the festival venue, where visitors will have the opportunity to taste honey.
The project has been focusing on enhancing marketing, packaging, and labeling to support beekeeping entrepreneurs under the Bee Zone initiative. The Bee Zone was established in Chitwan in the fiscal year 2075/76 BS.
Shiva Sharma, former president of the Nepal Beekeeping Federation, noted that the festival has been an inspiration for beekeeping farmers. It is worth mentioning that Chitwan produced 800 metric tons of honey last year.
