Paddy Imports Surge at Birgunj Customs Office

BIRGUNJ, JANUARY 3: Paddy imports through the Birgunj Customs Office have surged in the first five months of the current fiscal year, witnessing a 60.28% increase compared to the same period last year.
According to the Customs Office, paddy worth Rs 3.93 billion was imported during this period, compared to Rs 2.4 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. This significant rise has also led to a 45.23% increase in revenue collection from paddy imports.
Furthermore, during the same five-month period, rice worth Rs 928 million was also imported.
