Lahan municipality posts only 3.45 per cent capital spending

SIRAHA, JANUARY 7: At the halfway point of the current fiscal year, Lahan Municipality has recorded only 3.45% capital spending.
Mayor Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary presented these details during the 15th Winter Municipal Assembly held on Friday, where a detailed review of expenditures over the past five months was shared.
Out of the annual budget of Rs 1.23 billion, only Rs 285.6 million has been spent so far. Of this, Rs 242 million (19.70%) went toward recurrent expenditure, while Rs 43.34 million (3.45%) was allocated to capital expenditure. The municipality comprises 24 wards.
The 15th Winter Municipal Assembly was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh. According to the Local Governance Operation Act, 2074, municipalities are required to hold assemblies twice a year.
