KATHMANDU, JANUARY 7: The NEPSE index, a benchmark of the country'sstock market activity, rose by 6.16 points on Tuesday, marking a 0.23% increase compared to the previous day. This pushed the overall NEPSE index to 2,646.84 points. Continuing the trend of marginal gains over the past four trading sessions, NEPSE maintained a similar momentum.
In today's trading session, the share prices of 126 companies increased, while 107 saw a decline, and 10 remained unchanged. A total of 12,081,606 shares were traded across 66,626 transactions, amounting to a turnover of Rs 5.38 billion. This reflects a drop in trading volume compared to Monday’s turnover of Rs 6.30 billion.
The sector-wise performance showed declines in the sub-indices for Banking, Hotels & Tourism, Manufacturing & Processing, and Others. All other sub-group sub-indices registered gains.
