Westerly winds influence weather across country

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 9: Westerly winds are currently influencing weather conditions across Nepal. Foggy weather is prevalent in many parts of the Tarai.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas of the Koshi Province and mainly fair elsewhere.
This afternoon, the hilly areas of the Koshi Province will remain partly cloudy, while the rest of the country will experience mainly fair weather. Light snowfall is expected in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the Koshi Province.
The weather pattern is expected to persist in the afternoon. Tonight, the weather will be partly to generally cloudy in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the Koshi Province.
Fog is likely to occur in many places in the Tarai on Friday morning. The Department has urged the public to be vigilant as fog can significantly impact daily life, health, transportation, and aviation.
