Fair to promote Mundum Trek Fair kicks off

BHOJPUR, JANUARY 15: A cultural, tourism, and agriculture fair has commenced in Temkemaiung Rural Municipality-4, aiming to promote the Mundum trekking route, one of the 100 must-visit destinations announced by the Nepalese government. The fair, held at Chakhewa Bhanjyang, a popular tourist spot along the route, will run until January 18th, 2025.
Inaugurating the event, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Bandri Prasad Pandey, emphasized the potential of Nepal's diverse language, culture, and heritage to be showcased as an "open cultural museum." He highlighted the significant role of tourism in creating self-employment opportunities for thousands of people in the coming years.
Organized by the Chakhewa Market and Urbanization Management Committee, the festival focuses on promoting local delicacies and showcasing the region's unique woven rugs.
This fair is part of the broader efforts to promote tourism in Nepal, particularly during the Visit Nepal Year 2025.
